APC’s Newest Toy: Environmental Testing Chamber

This month the APC office is buzzing as we commission the latest environmental test chamber.  This new ‘toy’ will greatly build upon our current in-house capabilities with the introduction of controlled, full cycle temperature and humidity testing.

APC is now handling increasing numbers of military and high-end industrial computer customisation  projects.  It became apparent that we could dramatically shorten the development time by bringing this capability in-house.  When a customer requires formal third party certification, all parties can now commence the process with complete surety that the design is sound.  And coupled with our Environmental Stress Screening on finished products there can be no doubt that the products will operate with the reliability that our customers demand.

Test Chamber key features (and how they work):The innovative humidification water bath humidifies the air stream within the test chamber, allowing for aerosol-free humidity control as well as dehumidifying functions.  The water bath technology is combined with a psychrometric measurement system assuring highly accurate climate control in an extensive climatic range.

In the air-handling compartment, circulating air is cooled while flowing over a patented heat exchanger and heated by electrical resistance heaters in order to achieve the desired set values in the shortest possible time.  These two features of precise temperature and humidity control will allow extensive testing for us in the varying harsh conditions demanded by our clients.
